Victor Kanzala joined the Chongwe Team at the start of the 2010 season as a senior guide having spent more than a decade in the Lower Zambezi valley at Sausage Tree Camp.

A birding specialist, Victor’s favourite feathered friends are the elusive narina trogon and orioles. “I love looking at birds, and we are blessed in the Lower Zambezi to have some truly spectacular species and real rarities, like Pel’s fishing owl,” says Victor.

A passionate conservationist, Victor also specialises in walking safaris. “Walking gives you the time to really bond with your guests, and for a guide like me who loves meeting people and sharing my experiences and knowledge, it allows the spotlight to be focused on the smaller, often inconspicuous inhabitants of the bush that you miss on a vehicle.”
